Catharine is the newest Creative and Web Designer at Big Marlin Group in Gilbert, AZ. She was originally from Rochester, NY, and came to ASU to escape the snow and earn her Industrial Design degree. Recently, she completed her Barrett honors thesis titled Habloks: A System for Understanding, Tracking, and Shaping Habits.
Catharine worked at the Luminosity Lab for almost three years, first as a Design Researcher and then as the lab’s Lead Designer. Luminosity is an interdisciplinary lab of ASU students that work on “moon shot” projects to benefit society. In her time there, she led ShipShape, a USAID-funded project to design a mobile game teaching the fundamentals of supply chain management to health care workers in developing countries. She also led a team that is partnering with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to redesign the Girl Scouts robotics badge curriculum.
In her free time, Catharine enjoys reading, writing, hiking, and learning new things.
