Shirly was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and has lived here for most of her life. As a child, she always liked tinkering with things and working with her hands, which led her to believe that she had an interest in engineering. As a result, Shirly majored in mechanical engineering at USC for a year before she realized that what she really wanted to do was design and create products.
Shirly is now a senior in her last semester of undergrad at ASU, and she is pursuing a BSD in industrial design and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. She will be graduating in May 2020 and is seeking a summer or fall internship. She has an interest in the soft goods industry, but is open to anything that provides a new learning experience. Shirly is also interested in working with companies that value sustainability and have principles that align with her own.
